How to be warm yet stylish this winter..
It’s that time of the year again where our calendars are pretty much marked with Christmas and New Year’s parties with friends and family. But for some ladies with winters comes the urge to throw on a hoody with a pair of sweatpants. Winter and style don’t exactly go hand in hand, it’s either cute and stylish or warm, and comfortable. The idea is to balance the style without compromising your comfort with just the right pieces.
Coats and jackets
If your city faces extreme winter season then do not compromise on jackets and coats. Puffer jackets and coats are your way to go this season. There are a number of designs, prints, and colors to choose from according to the occasion or your style. Puffer jackets are windproof and water resistance, making it the smart choice.
The fur is for fur-ever
Rule out animal cruelty with faux fur. The fur is never out of fashion, investing in faux fur is your one-way ticket to diva land. If going full fur is not what you have in your mind then there are other options such as just the trimmings of cuffs, only the hood or just the collars. The fur is an investment piece that can be worn with a dress or with ripped jeans too.
Knits and wool’s
Layers go hand in hand with woolens and knits, you have the most freedom to experiment with your outfit when it comes to layers. But with freedom comes responsibility. Pairing wrong pieces of clothing can completely destroy your outfit. Start with a high-necked or turtle-necked sweater in slimmer fabric and work your way out from there with an off-shoulder sweater and if needed finish it up with an oversized cardigan.
Smart footwear
Being smart with your footwear is a rule you should follow regardless of winters. A pair of wrong shoes can completely bring down your outing with discomfort affecting your mood and pictures too.
A smart way to go for winter is by choosing front closed footwear for cities with normal winters. And those who face extreme winters with snow should invest in snow friendly footwear. Both ones can go with high boots, giving your legs an extra layer of protection. In fact, winter is most ideal for knee-length high boots.
Ga-ga over accessories!
Scarfs and hats are your best friend when it comes to winter. Scarfs are great for a layering piece. Not only is it a statement piece on its own, but it can also instantly add color, texture and a print to a monochromatic look.
You can throw it over your shoulders and arms, and wear it as a shawl or even fling it over your neck (letting it hang down in the front) and then belt it to accentuate your waist. Hats, on the other side, is not only cute but protect you from chilly winds plus works great to hide your fizzy winter hair easily. It’s all about how you carry yourself with these elements that will make winter season into a stylish winter season.
